Coop Family Hike

In a nutshell

The Coop Family Hike took place for the first time in Malbun on July 18, 2026. It drew around 400 participants to the Liechtenstein mountain region. Under the theme “The Helvetians and Their Magic Potion,” families enjoyed an interactive hike featuring puzzles, skits, and activity stations. The inaugural event showcased Malbun as an attractive venue for family-friendly events.

The event strengthens Liechtenstein—and Malbun in particular—as a family-friendly tourist destination. It raises the Principality’s profile and allows visitors to experience its natural beauty and recreational activities in an engaging way. At the same time, the project promotes regional economic growth and collaboration among various stakeholders.

The event was organized in collaboration with Coop and numerous local partners from the tourism, restaurant, municipal, recreational, and alpine farming sectors. This close collaboration played a key role in the success of the first edition of the event in Liechtenstein.

The hike, which was about 5.5 kilometers long, took participants through the mountainous landscape of Malbun and combined physical activity with interactive experiences. Along the route, actors and actresses, as well as various activity stations, provided a variety of entertainment.
