December 2, 2025 – The first breath you take upon entering the shop in Gamprin is an experience: a fragrant blend of lavender, lemongrass, and Swiss stone pine gently envelops you and invites you to pause for a moment. Nelly Kind-Häusler laughs: “You get used to the different scents—some are more intense, others lighter. For us, it’s a lovely compliment when customers walk in and say, ‘Oh, it smells so nice here!’”

Looking around, you’ll notice the carefully arranged shelves, filled with colorful natural soaps, salt scrubs, and natural candles—each product a little work of art in its own right. The combination of colors, scents, and lovingly designed packaging immediately makes it clear just how much passion and craftsmanship goes into every single item.

It’s more than just a scent—it’s an invitation to pause, awaken the senses, and leave everyday life behind for a moment. “Scents motivate and stimulate; they can calm or invigorate the mind,” explains Nelly Kind-Häusler, her eyes sparkling. “Lemongrass smells like a little sun rising. Lavender relaxes, Swiss stone pine calms. It is precisely this effect that we consciously want to infuse into our products—because for us, scents are not just a sensory experience, but part of our philosophy: mindfulness in everyday life through natural products.”

From Idea to Natural Soap

At the Badäl junction in Gamprin, coming from Ruggell, just past the Gamprin town sign, you’ll find Liechtenkind’s small but charming shop. It’s a place where the long history of soap meets modern natural cosmetics. If you ask how it all began, Alexander Kind will give you a clear answer:

“It all started with skin problems in the family. Our children and relatives suffered from rashes or asthma. We didn’t want unnecessary chemicals, microplastics, or cheap fillers. So we began developing our own products—ones that are sustainable, high-quality, and nourishing. In 2013, we founded Liechtenkind AG. Our natural soaps are made from ingredients such as Swiss rapeseed oil, organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, and organic hemp oil from Liechtenstein. They are alkaline, gently cleanse, and help balance the skin’s acid-base balance.”

“The high level of superfatting in the soaps ensures that the skin remains soft and supple after cleansing. The residual oils prevent the skin from drying out and nourish it. It’s a kind of pampering treatment for the skin. We want products that really work and bring joy. “It was a long learning process,” they explain, “a lot of trial and error, a lot of reading, constantly gathering new insights. Even after 12 years, there are still surprises when we create a new product. Making each bar of soap is a combination of craftsmanship, precision, and experimentation—something very few manufacturers do anymore.”

“We never know exactly how the scent or color will turn out in a new recipe,” they add with a laugh. “Sometimes there are little surprises that make the product even more special.”

Nelly Kind-Häusler is the creative force behind the company. Names, packaging, designs—she creates and perfects it all. “Packaging is more than just a wrapper,” she explains. “It’s the link between our product and the customer. Creative packaging design deepens that relationship.” Every package is manufactured in Liechtenstein, with reliable support from the Gutenberg printing company.

Her husband shows us around the production room where the soaps are made. The process requires precision: lye, also known as sodium hydroxide (NaOH), is a strongly alkaline substance used in soap-making to convert oils and fats into soap, but it is highly corrosive and caustic. Protective clothing is mandatory. “No lye, no soap. But don’t worry—after saponification, there’s no lye left—just skin-friendly natural soap.”

Every soap, shampoo, and salt scrub recipe is tested and certified. “It’s a huge organizational effort, but it ensures safety, quality, and a unique product.” The philosophy is clear: as waste-free, chemical-free, and plastic-free as possible—but made with care, sustainability, and natural ingredients.

“When we order fragrance samples, we never know exactly how the scent will turn out during production,” the two creative minds say with a laugh. “It’s all about researching, tinkering, and developing. A good example: We wanted to create a soap called ‘3 Sisters’—the scent didn’t turn out the way we’d imagined. That’s why today there’s a fantastic salt scrub named after the mountain range, but no soap.”

Their creativity is also evident in their natural wax candles, which feature lovingly designed labels, humorous sayings, and enticing scents in tins and jars. When lit, they reveal their full magic: soft light, captivating aromas, and a welcoming atmosphere that lets you forget the daily grind for a moment and creates little moments of happiness.

These logo soaps, which have become very well-known, are a great asset to this small family business. They offer customers, partners, friends, or relatives a special way to show their appreciation—whether as a personal gift, at an event or anniversary, or as a promotional item or giveaway.

The custom-designed soaps are tailored to individual preferences: scent, appearance, shape, and packaging can all be customized as desired, including a company logo or symbol. “There are no limits to our imagination here,” the two explain. “Scent marketing is fascinating: smells trigger emotions—the scent of Mom’s cake makes you happy, ocean scents make you dream of vacation, certain laundry detergents remind you of home. This can be used strategically to touch people in a very special way.”

Soap fell into obscurity for a long time, even though it has been made since the 7th century. Bar soap was replaced by liquid products, but in recent years, traditional soap has been experiencing a true renaissance. It’s more than just a trend—bar soap contains fewer additives, is sustainable, plastic-free, and naturally nourishes the skin.
