New Tree-Lined Street Brings Shade to Vaduz's Old Town
In response to the current heat wave, the Liechtenstein Center in Vaduz is providing some temporary relief with a colorful row of umbrellas. Starting now, 132 umbrellas are providing shade and, at the same time, creating a new photo spot in the old town.
June 26, 2026 - As of today, 132 umbrellas span the section in front of the Liechtenstein Center in Vaduz, providing welcome shade in the pedestrian zone for the next two months. The new row of umbrellas is decorated in the national colors, making it not only a functional but also a visually striking new highlight in the city center.
With the Schirmstrasse, the Liechtenstein Center is responding directly to the current high temperatures and offering passersby a pleasant way to cool off in public spaces during the summer months of July and August. At the same time, it invites people to linger and creates an attractive backdrop for photos.
“Last year, as part of the Red Cross’s anniversary celebrations, we set up a row of umbrellas in front of the Liechtenstein Center,” explains Mathias Ulrich, managing director of Liechtenstein Marketing. “Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents and visitors, we’re continuing with this concept this year.”
