National Holiday
In a nutshell
Liechtenstein Marketing is responsible for organizing Liechtenstein’s largest event. National Day is celebrated annually on August 15 and begins with the official state ceremony on the Schlosswiese. This is followed by a large public festival in the center of Vaduz, with the highlight of the evening being the torchlight procession and the traditional fireworks display. Around 3,500 guests attend the state ceremony, while over 30,000 visitors attend the public festival.
The National Holiday is a key signature event that strengthens the identity and cohesion of the Principality of Liechtenstein. At the same time, it helps raise the profile of the country’s brand both domestically and abroad. The event brings together the public, the business community, and the tourism sector, and supports a unified national communication strategy.
